Save on homebuying and home repair costs in Northwest Wisconsin

Northwest Wisconsin residents outside of major cities can qualify for home buying or home repair assistance

Northeastern Wisconsin's CDBG office is a clearinghouse for downpayment, closing cost, home improvements, weatherization, and accessibility assistance in non-urban areas in northeast Wisconsin. Its downpayment assistance program offers zero-percent deferred loan payment housing rehabilitation loans to low and moderate-income (LMI) owner-occupied households. Home improvement projects could include replacement of private onsite wastewater treatment systems, new electrical or plumbing systems, lead paint or asbestos abatement, roof replacement, or any other rehabilitation deemed necessary to meet housing quality standard (HQS) inspection.

This program is not open to residents of larger cities including Appleton, Fond du Lac, Green Bay, Neenah, Oshkosh, and Sheboygan.

This office handles a variety of programs, and though they all have specific income qualifications, the office encourages residents to call to discuss their options.
