Low-income adults at risk of entering a care facility may qualify for a cash supplement to help them continue living at home.
The State and County Special Assistance In-Home Program for Adults (SAIH) provides a monthly cash supplement and support services to low-income individuals who are at risk of entering a residential care facility but prefer to remain at home.
A case manager at your county Department of Social Services will conduct a comprehensive assessment to evaluate your needs, including your functional status, availability of family or community support, access to care services, and your housing situation. The case manager will then work with you, your family, and other caregivers to develop a care plan that enables you to live safely at home.
