Get free prescription medications in North Carolina

North Carolina residents without insurance may qualify for free prescription medications.

The NC MedAssist Free Pharmacy Program provides free prescription medications to North Carolina residents who do not have health insurance and have a qualifying household income. This statewide program helps people with limited income access life-saving medications for chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and asthma.

To be eligible, you must live in North Carolina, have no health insurance (Medicare patients may be considered on a case-by-case basis), and have a total household income at or below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level.

There is no fee to apply. Eligible patients are enrolled in the program for up to one year, and all medications are mailed to their address at no cost.
