Save on groceries with SNAP

$199/month average savings

Everyone deserves to have a good meal on the table. But it can be hard to keep up when you’re working hard for every dollar. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps make groceries more affordable. You could save $199/month or hundreds more if you live in a larger household.

How it Works

If you qualify, you can opt to receive a debit-like card with a preloaded dollar amount every month that you can discreetly use at checkout. Any food item with a Nutritional Facts label on its packaging – the table showing calories and serving size – can be bought with a SNAP card.

How much you get depends on your household size, income, and other factors. Larger households and lower-income households tend to get more assistance.

To get SNAP, you’ll have to do an interview (which may be a phone interview) and do an income check. Some states allow you to apply online, and for others you’ll need to get in touch with your state or county’s SNAP office. What you need to apply varies, but most likely you’ll need ID, proof of residence, and proof of income.
