Home Energy Rebates

Save money while making your home more energy-efficient

Home energy rebates help you get money back on home improvements that can make your home more energy efficient, comfortable, and help you save on utility costs in the long run. Some of these rebates are available as standard up front discounts on the equipment or installation costs, and other rebates are determined based on the type of work you want done.

Program Details

Georgia has two rebate funds available - a Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) and HEAR (Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates). These rebates help Georgia homeowners afford home improvements that make homes more comfortable, and can help households save on utility costs in the long run.

What can you get?

Through the HER rebate program, households qualify for rebates based on household income and how much energy they’re expected to save through the home improvement project. HER rebates can also be combined with HEAR rebates.

See more details here: https://energyrebates.georgia.gov/home-electrification-and-appliance-rebates

Who is eligible?

The HEAR rebates are limited to homeowners below 150% AMI. The HER home efficiency rebates are available to all homeowners regardless of income. See more about eligibility here.

How to apply

There are two home rebate programs being offered by the state of Georgia. While each program has distinct participation requirements, the intake process for the pilot is generally the same.

Step 1: Decide how you’d like to participate. Start thinking about what type of project might work best for your household - whether you have a project in mind, or want a contractor to guide you. Alternatively, book time with Workmoney’s electrification expert to learn more about your options here.

Step 2: Gather proof of income documentation Participating households will need to verify some information including household income and homeownership. Full details of acceptable forms of income-related documentation can be found here.

Step 3: Contact an approved contractor. Contact one of the approved contractors directly to begin the rebate process. A list of eligible contractors can be found here.
