CHIP and Medicaid for Children

Get free health insurance for your kids with CHIP

The Child health insurance program (CHIP) can provide health insurance for kids whose parents make too much to qualify for Medicaid but can’t afford private coverage. In some states, CHIP also covers pregnant women. You can apply any time of year. Plans include dental cleanings, regular doctor checkups, other hospital & doctor visits, prescription drugs, and vision care.

You may still pay some money every month, depending on your income and family size, but you’ll never pay more than 5% of your income for CHIP coverage.
